FULTON, MS - Freshman third baseman Mamie Hollenhead (Mathiston) had a big to help lead the No. 10 Indians past the Hinds Community College Lady Eagles, 8-0, in five innings on Sunday.
Hollendhead went three-for-three with three runs batted in, two runs scored and two stolen bases.
The Indians (18-4, 3-2 MACJC) wasted little time getting the things rolling against the Lady Eagles (6-14, 3-4 MACJC) as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning before hanging pair of runs on the board in the third inning before invoking the run-rule with back-to-back runs in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings.
ICC pounded out 11 hits over five innings with Lane Kennedy (Smithville) adding a pair of hits to drive in a run while scoring two more and stealing a base. Bree Thompson (Water Valley) drove in a run with a triple and scored.
Katlin McDuffy (Iuka) kept the Hinds batters handcuffed only allowing two hits while striking out six over five scoreless innings of work.
