BOONEVILLE, MS - Cold bats and a late-game questionable call haunts the Indians (17-4, 2-2 MACJC) in Game 2 loss in Booneville.
ICC took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Kaitlin Bradley (Columbus) scored on a single by Mamie Hollenhead (Mathiston), but Northeast (9-10, 3-3 MACJC) had an answer in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game, 1-1.
The Indians answered in the second when Bree Thompson (Water Valley) scored on a single by Alex Brown (Pontotoc), but Northeast rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the third.
A questionable call by the infield umpire on what appeared to be the third out of the inning and heads up base running allowed the Tigers to plate the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh to upset the Indians, 3-2.
ICC only managed one hit over the final four innings of play.
Hollenhead finished two-for-three with a RBI.
Carleigh Mills (Kossuth) was the tough-luck loser after giving up three runs, one earned, on four hits and two walks while striking out six in 6.2 innings of work.
