Johnson slings one-hitter in ICC win over EMCC

FULTON, MS - Sophomore pitcher Hannah Johnson (Branson, MO) gave her only hit of the afternoon on a two-out double in the top of the sixth inning of the Lady Indians' 8-0 sixth-inning win over East Mississippi on Thursday.
ICC (28-11, 19-5 MACJC North) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third when Taylor Thornton (Carrollton) scored on a sac fly by Courtney Roberts (Hatley) and the the flood gates opened for the Lady Indains in the fifth.
Back-to-back one-out walks to Haley Moore (Booneville) and Laken Shankle (Bruce) followed by a RBI double from Roberts and run scoring singles from Arriann Henry (Ecru), Cara Hopper (Caldeonia), Katrina Wilson (Oxford), and Moore gave ICC a 6-0 lead after the dust finally settled on the inning.
ICC tacked on a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to envoke the mercy rule and give the Lady Indains their 30th win of the season.
