BOONEVILLE, MS - The Lady Indians opened MACJC North Division play with an impressive 6-1 win over rival Northeast on Thursday.
Hannah Johnson (Branson, MO) scatted three hits and three strikeouts in the complete game victory.
The Lady Indians jumped out to a 2-0 lead after a triple by Catherine Carver (Hernando) and a sac fly by Kory Watterson (Nesbit) in the top of the first inning before taking on three more runs in the fourth on a RBI double from Autumn Bonner (Fayette, AL) followed by a two-run home run by Ashley Langoford (Caledonia).
ICC tacked on an insurance run in the fifth on a RBI double by Watterson.
Carver went 2-for-4 while Bonner, Moore, Langford, Watterson, Heather Dillard (New Albany) and Emilee Henderson (Burnsville) rounded out the Lady Indians 8-hit performance.
