SENATOBIA, MS – The Itawamba Community College men's tennis team picked up three match wins on the road at Northwest Mississippi Community College, but dropped the final four singles matches to fall 6-3.
Mark Robbins (New Albany) and Bryan McDonnieal (Corinth) made quick work of their opponents in singles action by both picking up 6-0, 6-1 wins. Robbins defeated Noah Dunlap in straight sets and McDonnieal followed suit against Zaen Harbin.
The duo also controlled their doubles match as they defeated Quentin Hutchinson and Harbin, 8-1.
Lane Brandon (Houston) dropped his first set 6-1 to Thomas Hall, but rallied to win the second set 7-6(4-7). However, Brandon came up just short in the tie breaker 10-4 to give Hall the victory.
The Rangers took two of three in doubles action and grabbed wins in No. 3 and No. 4 singles matches on their way to the 6-3 win.
The Indians will host Jones County Junior College Saturday, April 2 at 10:30 a.m..
