Indians move to 2-0 with win over Hinds

RAYMOND, MS - The ICC men's tennis team rolled to their second-straight 9-0 victory when they defeated the Hinds Community College Eagles on Saturday.

No. 3 doubles duo of Drew Ballard (Tupelo) and Caleb Ballard (Shannon) defeated Jonathan Bethea and Peter Beathea 8-0 while No. 1 Nathan Pinkey (Southaven) and Austin McElwain (Corinth) won 8-1 over Devante Thomas and Aaron Gray.

No. 2 David McElwain (Corinth) and Cody Coins (Millington, TN) beat Julian Johnson and Melvin McNair 8-2 to complete the doubles sweep of the Indians (2-0).

The Indians rolled through singles play with No. 1 Pinkey winning 6-0; 6-2 over Thomas, No. 2 Austin McElwain defeated Johnson 6-0; 6-2, No. 3 David McElwain picked up a 6-2; 6-1 win over Gray, No. 4 Coins won 6-0; 6-1 over Jonathan Bethea while No. 5 Joseph Summers (Amory) defeated McNair 6-4; 6-2 and No. 5 Jordan Trice (Shannon) won 6-1; 6-1 over Austin Pevey.
