Perkinston, Miss. – In the NJCAA Region 23 quarterfinals, Itawamba Community College men's soccer fell to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Sunday, 4-1.
The Indians (9-5-2) fell behind early in the contest as the Bulldogs scored on a penalty kick at the 8th minute and then scored again two minutes later to take a 2-0 lead.
At the 17th minute, the Bulldogs added another goal to take a 3-0 advantage, that they held through halftime.
In the second half, the Indians came out aggressive and Ian Thomas (Southaven) scored at the 53rd minute to cut the deficit to 3-1.
The Indians had several quick chances following the goal, but were unable to find the back of the net.
With 15 minutes left to play, the Bulldogs added another goal on their way to the 4-1 win.
