
Offensive struggles doom Indians against Southwest

ELLISVILLE, MS – Antonio Cowart, Jr scored 16 and Rodrick Sikes added 15, as Southwest Mississippi Community College used a big second half to pull away for an 82-55 win over Itawamba Community College in the opening round of the MACJC Tournament at Jones County Junior College on Tuesday.
The Bears (17-7) pulled ahead for an 18-point lead in the first half before the Indians (11-12) rallied to make it a 36-31 contest at the break. ICC turned the ball over 12 times resulting in 15 points for Southwest in the first half.
Southwest's bench outscored the Indians' 20-6 in the second half to help pull away for the victory.
Brian Halums (Hollandale) scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Quenten Taylor (Calhoun, GA) added 11 for the Indians.
