
ICC Indians falls to No. 19 Shelton State for third consecutive loss

TUSCALOOSA, AL – After opening up the season with three straight wins at home, the Itawamba Community Colleges Indians have hit a three game skid on the road as they fell to No. 19 Shelton State 70-54 Monday night.
The Indians (3-3) battled with the nationally ranked Bucs early as Howard Thomas tied the contest midway through the first half. A lull late in the half paired with a trio of three-pointers allowed the Bucs to pull away and hold a 34-18 lead at halftime.
With under two minutes to play, the Indians pulled within 14, 68-54, but the Bucs managed to pull away and pick up the win.
Carter Sweat (Piperton, TN) and Ron Davis (Edwards) led the Indians with 10 points each Thomas grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds.
Marvin Jones led the charge for the Bucs with 17 points, followed by Jann Hilson with 14, Christopher Dudley with 13 and Taboris Griggs with 11.
The Indians look to end their current skid on Thursday when they travel to take on Meridian Community College at 7:30 p.m.
