FULTON, Miss. — Itawamba Community College signed one of the largest recruiting classes in program history Wednesday, adding 29 players to its 2025 roster.
"Today was a big day for our program," head coach Travis Macon said. "We wanted champions—players who have competed in and won state championships—and that's exactly what we signed."
Among the 29 signees, eight defensive players were selected for the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Classic.
"We lost a lot of production on defense from last season," defensive coordinator Justin Lucas said. "We focused on signing players who competed in the Bernard Blackwell Classic and earned all-state honors. We brought in some really talented kids."
Macon said the program prioritized size, strength and speed in the recruiting process.
"We checked all the boxes we set for this class," he said. "I'm really proud of our coaching staff for their hard work. I believe we have a strong group of players who can build on last season's success."
The Indians will begin a limited number of spring practices that will conclude with the annual Chop Day Spring Game on April 24. ICC will open the 2025 season at home Aug. 28 against Hinds.
