Rowsey named NJCAA All-American

Rowsey named NJCAA All-American

FULTON, MS -  Sophomore defensive back Dylan Rowsey has been named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Honorable Mention All-American team for the 2024 season.

The Rienzi native finished his final year at ICC ranked seventh in the country with four interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He also recorded 50 total tackles (averaging 5.6 tackles per game) and two tackles for a loss.

Rowsey's stellar play this season capped off a remarkable career at ICC. He was named the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACCC) North Division Defensive Player of the Year, earned a spot on the MACCC All-North Division First Team, and was selected to the NJCAA All-Region 23 Team. His breakout moment came in a standout performance in the Indians' 35-17 win over Mississippi Delta, where he posted eight tackles and returned an interception 43 yards for a touchdown to earn both the MACCC and NJCAA Defensive Player of the Week.

Earlier this month, Rowsey committed to continue his football career at Murray State University, a member of the Missouri Valley Conference and NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).

Rowsey is the second ICC student-athlete to earn NJCAA All-American honors this season, joining sophomore volleyball player Lexi Pendleton, who was named a second-team All-American.
