Rowsey, Thompson selected to the All-Region team

FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College defensive back Dylan Rowsey (Rienzi) and linebacker Jaiyden Thompson (Okolona) have earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 23 honors, the conference announced Tuesday.

Rowsey finished his sophomore season leading the Indians with four interceptions while picking up 50 total tackles, two of them for a loss. His four interceptions were tied for third in the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) and seventh in the NJCAA.

In ICC's 35-17 win over Mississippi Delta, Rowsey made eight solo tackles and returned an interception for a 43-yard touchdown in a performance that earned him both MACCC and NJCAA Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Thompson was another key player on the ICC defense this season, recording 54 total tackles, 6.5 for loss, and four sacks, tying for 14th in the MACCC. He was second on the team with an average of six tackles per game. Thompson recorded a career-high 18 tackles to help the Indians earn a 36-24 road victory over East Mississippi, earning both MACCC and NJCAA Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

Rowsey and Thompson both received First Team All-MACCC North Division honors from the MACCC in November.
