
FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College sophomore defensive back Dylan Rowsey (Rienzi) has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Defensive Player of the Week following his performance in the Indians' 35-17 win over Mississippi Delta last Thursday, the conference announced Tuesday.
Rowsey recorded eight solo tackles and returned a 43-yard interception for a touchdown with 1:10 left in the game to secure the Indians' come-from-behind win over the Trojans.
Rowsey, who currently has 28 total tackles (23 solo; five assisted) on the season and two interceptions, is the Indians' second consecutive player to be named MACCC Defensive Player of the Week. Jaiyden Thompson (Okolona) earned the honor last week.
The Indians will be back in action Thursday, Oct. 10, when they travel to Clarksdale to take on Coahoma. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., and the pregame show will start at 6 p.m. on SuperTalk 101.9 FM and LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
