FULTON, MS – Sophomore defensive lineman Naquez Pringle has signed with the University of Kentucky football program.

The 6-foot-2, 330-pound defensive lineman from Georgetown, South Carolina had 21 tackles and a tackle for a loss to go along with a fumble recovery  to earn a spot on the MACJC North All-Star team in his final season with the Indians. As a freshman, Pringle earned MACJC All-State Second Team honors after recording 19 tackles with two tackles for a loss to go along with two blocked kicks and an interception.

UK Coach Mark Stoops told reporters, "[Pringle] is an extremely powerful and fundamental interior lineman who was heavily recruited out of high school. We are very pleased he was able to enroll at Kentucky mid-year and that he will be able to work out and participate in spring practice. He will add much-needed depth to our defensive line."

The three-star recruit picked Kentucky over offers from Appalachian State, Troy and Southern Miss.

"We are excited for Naquez and what the future holds for him at Kentucky," said ICC Coach Sean Cannon. "He has tons of potential and will be able to provide them with some depth on the defensive line. I feel like he will be a player they can count on right away."

247Sports ranks Pringle as the No. 27 defensive tackle amongst the national JUCO ranks.

Pringle earned invitations to play in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas and the 2013 Under Armour All-American Combine after being rated No. 66 nationally at defensive tackle and the 20th best prospect in South Carolina by ESPN.
