In the world of powerlifting, the squat is one of the major lifts performed in competition.

One that Ray Williams has owned since starting his professional powerlifting career in 2013.

Williams continued his dominance of the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) Raw Super Heavyweight division with a world record setting squat of 939 pounds at the Asia Oceania Raw Powerlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Sunday.

It was a lift that broke his own raw squat world record of 938 pounds set in June at the IPF Powerlfiting Classic World Championships in Finland.

He added a 507-pound bench press and 777-pound deadlift for a raw total of 2,223 pounds, which also broke his own world record of 2,206 pounds.

Williams now sets his eyes on defending his United States and World records for the first time on his home soil at the 2016 IPF World Raw Championships scheduled for June 19-26 in Killeen, Texas.
