Former Indian Wes Saxton is currently competing at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana.

"We are extremely proud of Wes," said Coach Sean Cannon. "Being invited to be part of the NFL Combine is a big deal and is a direct result from everything he has put towards achieving his dream of playing in the NFL."

Saxton (Birmingham, AL) arrived in Indianapolis on Tuesday and went through pre-exam and x-rays before participating orientation and interviews before going through official measurements and medical exams by the NFL before addressing the media and participating in a second round of interviews on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the former Indian attended NFLPA meetings and went through psychological testing before going through bench press workouts and his final round of interviews.

Saxton is scheduled to take part in on-field workouts featuring timing, stations, and skill drills – which will be aired live on the NFL Network on Friday.

Saxton entered the Combine rated with a 5.15 grade, which is considered to be a "better-than-average chance to make an NFL roster" according to NFL.com. He received early praise from on-site personalities that anticipate the former South Alabama Jaguar to likely be a third round pick.

Saxton is not the only former Indian with NFL aspirations this year.

Former do-it-all Indian, Terrell Pinson (Tupelo) is currently in Tampa, Florida training for the Louisiana Tech Pro Day on March 19.

"We're really rooting for Terrell," said Cannon. "He is another one of those guys that is proving how far hard work and dedication can take you. He is a talented player with a lot of potential to make plays on the next level and proved that down at Louisiana Lafayette last season."

Pinson landed in Louisiana Tech after two seasons at ICC and quickly "emerged as a big-time playmaker," according to ESPN's Todd McShay.

The former safety converted to linebacker jumped in the national spotlight after a career game in LA Tech's 27-20 win over the University of Texas at San Antonio.

He recorded seven tackles (four solo, three assisted) with one tackle for a loss of two yards, two interceptions returned for 34 yards, and a fumble return for a touchdown, two pass break-ups that nearly resulted in his third interception on the day, and a quarterback hurry earning him the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Defensive Player of the Week, the College Football Performance Awards National Defensive Player of the Week, the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week and a helmet sticker from Lou Holtz on ESPN's College Football Final.
