For three season, former ICC football star Odie Armstrong was a fan-favorite amongst the Arizona Rattler faithful.

Saturday night, the former fan-favorite became the Rattler faithful's nightmare as he rumbled over his former teammates for 17 yards on 10 carries and tied his career-best single game performance with four touchdowns to help the San Jose Sabercats (10-4) snap the Rattlers' Arena Football League (AFL) record 14-game win streak with a 62-33 win in San Jose.

"It felt good," said Armstrong. "I've been waiting to have a break out game and show the [Sabercat] fans what I was capable of doing and to help the team get a win over our rivals was extra sweet. The defense played amazing and we just wanted to be able to keep them going by putting points on the board on the offensive side of the ball."

Armstrong was named the Russell Athletic Offensive player of the Game in a win that moved the Sabercats magic number for clinching the National Conference Pacific Division to one game.

The Vardaman native continues to march his way up the all-time career rushing leaderboard. Armstrong is currently fifth in career rushing yards with 1,321 yards and is tied for seventh with 85 career rushing touchdowns and 394 career careers.

I've been blessed to have the success I've had," said Armstrong. "There are a lot of people back home in Vardaman and at ICC that helped me get where I am and without them none of this would be possible."

Armstrong and the Sabercats will be back in action on Sunday, July 6th at Los Angeles vs the KISS before quickly bouncing back for their final home game of the season on Friday, July 11th against the Tampa Bay Storm.
