Collin McCrory
Assistant Baseball Coach
Itawamba Community College

Collin McCrory joined the Itawamba Community College baseball coaching staff in August 2022, bringing a strong background in pitching development, team leadership, and player advancement. A native of Amory, Mississippi, McCrory’s coaching career has been defined by dramatic turnarounds, high-level success, and a passion for helping student-athletes thrive on and off the field.

Since his arrival at ICC, McCrory has played a key role in the program’s resurgence. In his first season, the Indians jumped from a 19-21 record to 36-13. Under his guidance, the pitching staff has recorded over 300 strikeouts in consecutive seasons—the longest such streak in modern program history. In 2025, pitcher Jud Files led the MACCC in strikeouts (108), setting a new ICC single-season record.

Before joining ICC, McCrory served as the pitching coach at South Panola High School from 2018 to 2022. In his debut season, the Tigers claimed their first division title since 1992 and set a new school record with a 22-7 season. His pitching staffs consistently ranked among the best in Mississippi’s 6A classification, including a remarkable team ERA of 1.82 in 2018. Under his leadership, outfielder Emaarion Boyd, who he coached all four years, was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the MLB Draft.

McCrory also spent six summers with the Tupelo 49ers American Legion program, where he helped guide the team to a 169-50 record, including a 35-3 season in 2022 and a national semifinal appearance in 2021. His pitching staffs posted a collective ERA of 3.05 over six years, and he played a significant role in the development of 53 players who advanced to junior college baseball, with 20 moving on to NCAA Division I programs—including 19 who went on to play at ICC.

McCrory’s coaching career began in 2017 with a volunteer role at Amory High School. From the start, he has been known for his tireless work ethic, ability to connect with players, and commitment to building championship-level programs.
