
FULTON, Miss. – Recent Itawamba Community College graduates Bo Rock of Amory, Eli Akins of Ripley and Matt Bourdon of Collierville, Tenn., have signed to continue their baseball careers at the next level.
Bourdon will play for the University of South Alabama Jaguars while Akins and Rock head to Delta State University.
On the mound, Bourdon led the Indians with 59 strikeouts while recording a 3.93 earned run average. He posted a career-best 10-strikeout performance in six innings against Holmes during the 2024 season.
In his final season at ICC, Rock had 19 RBI along with four home runs and 37 hits. At first base, he posted a .975 fielding percentage, recorded 241 putouts and 25 double plays in the 2024 season.
Another powerful arm for the Indians, Akins, who struck out 44 batters, posted a 6.94 earned run average. His eight-strikeout performance helped ICC earn a 2-1 win over East Mississippi Community College last season.
Bourdon's Jaguars team, which compete in the Sun Belt Conference, are a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I member.
Rock and Akins join the Statesmen that compete in the Gulf South Conference and are a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II member.
