Indians win game one over Delta in a 12-8 shootout

FULTON, MS – Itawamba Community College won a game one shootout against Mississippi Delta Community College 12-8 Tuesday.
The Indians (27-10, 14-7 MACJC) trailed 1-0 for the first three frames but tied the contest in the fourth before plating six runs in the sixth to take an 8-3 lead.
In the next two innings, the Trojans plated five runs to regain the lead but in the bottom of the eighth, the Indians pushed across four runs to pick up the 12-8 win.
Tyreque Reed (Houlka) led the Indians offense as he picked up four RBI while going 1-for-2 with four walks and a double.
Cody Pate (Amory), Austin Carpenter (Belmont) and Keith Stepter (Hernando) picked up two RBIs each and Stepter finished the game going 3-for-4 with a double.
On the mound, Klay Houston (Fulton) picked up his second win of the season as he threw six innings.
