
Indians season comes to a close with game three loss to Pearl River

FULTON, MS – In the rubber match and decisive game three of the NJCAA Region 23 Best-of-Three Playoff Series, Itawamba Community College saw its baseball season comes to a close as Pearl River Community College captured the 13-0 victory in five innings Friday night.
The Indians (31-16) fell behind early as the Wildcats pushed across four runs in the opening frame before adding two more in the second.
Pearl River plated four more runs in the third and three in the fourth while their pitching staff held the Indians to only two hits in the contest.
Hagan Box (French Camp) and Tyreque Reed (Houlka) picked up the tribe's only two hits but were unable to plate a run and fell 13-0 in five innings to end the season.
During the 2017 season, the Indians climbed as high as No. 7 in the NJCAA Rankings amd finishes the season with Reed leading the NJCAA with a .504 batting average and .638 on base percentage and JT Salter (Bay Minette, AL) ranking 13th in the nation with 84 strikeouts.
