
Indians fall to No. 14 East MS, 5-2

FULTON, MS – The Itawamba Community College baseball team returned to the friendly confides of Roy Cresap Field on Tuesday, but had a strong test in front of them as they face No. 14 East Mississippi.
The Indians (15-14, 9-12) battled with the nationally ranked Lions, they were unable to pull off the upset, falling in game one, 5-2.
East MS took an early 3-0 lead, but the Indians rallied in the fifth inning to pull within one on a two run scoring single by Hayden Williams (Amory).
The Lions increased their lead by two over the next two frames while holding the Indians to only two hits for the remainder of the contest.
Freshman pitcher Jonas White (Lewisburg) gave the Indians a chance late, but shutting down the Lions when he took over on the hill. White allowed only two hits in his two and a third innings of work.
