I could not have done it without Coach Annie [McGregor]. She definitely helped me out a lot during this recruiting process because she wanted me to go somewhere that was a great fit for me."
In addition, Lyons also made history by earning the first-ever MACCC Offensive Player of the Week recognition after recording 13 kills against Chattanooga State and 19 against Calhoun to open the season. She also achieved MACCC First Team All-Conference honors after her sophomore season.
ICC head volleyball coach Annie McGregor spoke highly of Lyons and the impact she has left during her two years with the program.
"Bree has been an impact player for us ever since she got here," McGregor said. "She was voted captain both her freshman and sophomore years, and the record books speak for themselves. She was a tremendous player for our program and our team. We hate to lose her, but we're so excited for her to keep playing."
Lyons joins the Valkyries that are a member of Conference Carolinas and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II.
