Fulton, Miss. – The Itawamba Community College men's soccer team wrapped up the regular season with a 2-1 win over Andrew College on the rainy Friday afternoon.
Jose Villanueva (Maylene, Ala.) gave the Indians (11-4) an early lead with a goal at the 20th minute and they would hold that lead through halftime.
Seven minutes into the second half however, the Tigers would net the equalizer. As the game continued and the rain fell harder, the Indians were able to get some quality shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net.
The tied was finally broken at the 87th minute when Anthony Jones (Oxford) scored the game winner.
Next up for the Indians is the MACCC Semifinals that will be held in Ridgeland Saturday, Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. The North Division Champion Indians will face the winner of Tuesday's quarterfinal game between Gulf Coast and Northwest.
