FULTON, MS – Coach Sean Cannon announced 11 members of the Indians' football team signed on the first day of the early signing period for junior college mid-year transfers.  

Quarterback Kwadra Griggs (Greenwood) signed with the University of Southern Mississippi.

Griggs threw from 2,138 yards with 18 touchdowns and 9 interceptions on 199-of-333 passing while rushing for 163 yards and 3 touchdowns on 44 carries to earn Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) North All-State Second Team honors in his final season with the Indians.

Offensive lineman Tyler Floyd (Booneville) along with linebackers Daniel Johnson (Coldwater) and Calwaun Street (Charleston) will be taking their talents to Delta State University next semester.

Floyd anchored the Indians offensive line that averaged 415.5 yards of offense per game (187.9 rushing; 227.6 passing).

Johnson earned MACJC North All-State first team honors and was named to the MACJC North All-Star team after leading the Indians with 81 tackles (61 solo; 20 assists); 2.5 sacks and 6 tackles for a loss of 33 yards.

Street finished his final season with the Indians with 30 tackles (22 solo; 8 assists); 1.5 sacks; 6.5 tackles for a loss of 41 yards; and 1 pass break-up.

A pair of wide receivers signed to continue their careers as Grant Kimberlin (Southaven) inked with Harding University and Dominic Walker (Orlando, FL) with Troy University.

Kimberlin earned MACJC North All-State first team honors after leading the Indians in receiving with 44 catches for 393 yards and finished tied for a team-best 4 touchdown receptions. Walker had 316 yards and 4 touchdowns on 23 catches while returning 8 kickoffs for 159 yards and was named to the MACJC North All-Star team.

Offensive lineman Brandon Windham (Meridian) signed with Mississippi College.

Windham helped anchor an offensive line that helped the Indians finish with the 19th best offense in the nation with 4,155 yards (1,879 rushing; 2,276 passing) of total offense.

Coach Tyrone Fox continued his tradition of defensive backs signing on the Division I level with Antonio Clifton (Tupelo) signing with UT-Martin; Quinn Tiggs (Tupelo) signing with Texas State; and Levarious Varnado (Calhoun City) signing with the University of Buffalo.

Clifton finished the season fourth on the team with 49 total tackles (43 solo; 6 assists); 2 tackles for a loss of 21 yards; 1 forced fumble; 2 pass break-ups; and 1 blocked kick. Tiggs earned MACJC North All-State honors after recording 44 tackles (40 solo; 4 assists); 3.5 tackles for a loss of 20 yards; 1 forced fumble; 2 interceptions returned for a total of 34 yards; a 5 pass break-ups.

Defensive end Quindarius Thagard (Luverne, AL) will continue his career at the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

Thagard finished the season with 25 tackles (17 solo; 8 assists); 3.5 sacks; 8 tackles for a loss of 36 yards; 1 interception; and 1 pass break-up.

Coach Cannon expects to announce more signings as all 27 sophomores were academically eligible to transfer during the Christmas break.
