Eight Indians named to MACJC North All-State Teams

FULTON, MS – Eight players from the Itawamba Community College football program have been named to the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College (MACJC) North Division All-State Teams.
The Indians, who finished 6-4 and earned a playoff spot for the first time since 2013, had five players earn MACJC North Division All-State First Team honors on Monday. Lineman Allen Byrd (Meridian) and wide receiver Grant Kimberlin (Southaven) where named first team on the offensive side of the ball, while Terrence Jones (Bruce), Quinn Tiggs (Tupelo) and Daniel Johnson (Coldwater) represent the Indians on defense.
Byrd was the center of the Indians offensive line that picked up 4,155 yards of total offense this season and Kimberlin led the team in receptions with 44 for 393 yards and four touchdowns.
Jones picked up 31 total tackles this season and led the Indians with 12 tackles for loss and four sacks at the defensive end position, while Tiggs recorded 44 total tackles and grabbed two interceptions as a defensive back. Johnson, who was the leader of a strong linebacker group, finished with a team-high 81 total tackles and picked up six tackles for loss and two and half quarterback sacks.
Quarterback Kwadra Griggs (Greenwood), defensive end Trev Miller (Noxapater) and defensive back Kendarius Hibbler (Tunica) all earned MACJC North All-State Second Team honors.
Griggs finished 199-333 for 2,138 yards, 18 touchdowns and 9 interceptions this season while rushing for three touchdowns and 163 yards on 44 carries.
Hibbler finished with 42 total tackles and a team-high four interceptions and Miller picked up 31 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, four quarterback sacks and forced one fumble.
