Clifton named MACJC Defensive Player of the Week

FULTON, MS – Sophomore defensive back Antonio Clifton (Tupelo) has been named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Defensive Player of the Week.
Clifton had 14 tackles (12 solo; 2 assists) with one tackle for a loss of one yard in the Indians' 49-17 playoff loss to No. 8 Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Saturday.
The Tupelo High School product finished the season as the Indian's fourth leading tackler with 49 total tackles (43 solo; 6 assists) with two tackles for a loss of 21 yards, two pass break-ups, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick.
He is eligible for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Defensive Player of the Week honors that are expected to be announced later this week.
Clifton finished his career with 95 total tackles (80 solo; 15 assists) with three tackles for a loss of 24 yards, four pass break-ups, two forced fumbles, one interception returned 41 yards, one fumble recovery, and one blocked kick.
