FULTON, MS – The Itawamba Community College football team participated in a NFL Leadership Program on Saturday, April 18.

ICC was the first stop of many that the NFL Leadership Program will make and it is the first and only community college to host the event; however, it is not the NFL's first time on campus. Since 2010, the NFL has partnered with ICC to host their highly-successful summer High School Player Development camp.

"We are excited to be back here," said Matt Reamer, who is an assistant with the NFL Leadership Program. "This is the first time we have done anything with a college team and we're excited to be here."

The members of the ICC football program started the day with a video package explaining the power of social media as told by numerous former and current NFL players and representatives.

Chris Draft, a 13-year NFL veteran, took the stage after the video to address the team. During Draft's time with the team he discussed many topics with an uplifting and positive messages. Draft's enthusiasm, passion and spirit shined capturing the attention of everyone and showing why he was named Man of the Year in 2006 by NFL Alumni.

After addressing the team, Draft spent some quality time with the players and coaches before leading the team in local community service projects.

The purpose of the NFL Leadership Program is to provide athletes with a better understanding of what it means to be leaders on and off the field by focusing on the importance of developing core values through character development, competition, community service and academic excellence.
