Gilleylen named NJCAA Defensive Player of the Week

FULTON, MS – Sophomore linebacker Devan Gilleylen was named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Defensive Player of the Week when the national office announced their weekly honorees on Wednesday.
Gilleylen (Shannon) totaled a career-high 12 tackles (8 solo; 4 assists) along with 3.5 tackles for a loss 24 yards and 2.5 sacks to help keep the Indians playoff hopes alive with a 38-19 win over Northeast Mississippi Community College last week.
The Shannon native earned his second Mississippi Association of Community College (MACJC) Defensive Player of the Week honor on Tuesday.

This week's national honor is the third time this season an ICC student-athlete has earned NJCAA Player of the Week and the first time since 2012 for an ICC football player to earn national honors.
The Indians (3-4, 3-2 MACJC North) travels to Mississippi Delta Community College to take on the Trojans at 2:00 p.m. in Moorhead.
