Fulton, Miss. – Itawamba Community College women's basketball suffered a 66-55 conference loss to Meridian Community College Monday night.
The Lady Indians (9-7, 1-6 MACCC) jumped out to a big first quarter lead, and held an 18-12 lead at the end of the opening frame.
At halftime, the Lady Indians only trailed by two, 31-29, but the Lady Eagles extended their lead to 50-37 by the end of the third.
The Lady Indians had a strong fourth quarter and cut the lead down to six points, but the Lady Eagles were able to hold on to pick up the 66-55 win.
Che'mya Carouthers (Tupelo) led the Lady Indians with 16 points, and Antwanette Regular (Greenwood) scored a season-high 12 points off the bench.
The Lady Indians will travel to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Thursday with tip-off scheduled for 6 p.m. in Perkinston.
