FULTON, Miss. – Sophomore point guard Lauren Fitch (Decatur, AL) scored a career-high 18 points and dished out a career-best 9 assists in the Lady Indians' 77-67 win over Lawson State (AL) Community College on Monday.
Shaniyah Buford (Abbeville) nailed a three from the corner with 1:21 left in the fourth quarter to spark a 10-0 run to help the Lady Indians pull away for the 10-point victory.
Buford finished the night with 16 points and 5 rebounds while Constance Dunn (Fulton) came off the bench to score 17 points.
HIGHLIGHTS: Lady Indians defeat Lawson State, 77-67
Kanissus Mayfield led the Lady Cougars with 16 points and 14 rebounds.
The Lady Indians will face No. 9 Jones County Junior College on Thursday in their first Region 23 game of the season. The First American National Bank opening tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 at the Davis Event Center and the game will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/RED.
