Lady Indians knock off ASU Mid-South, 77-64

WEST MEMPHIS, AR – Jabria Pounds (Nettleton) collected her third double-double on the year with 21 points and 13 rebounds to help the Lady Indians snap a three-game losing streak with a 77-64 win over ASU Mid-South on Thursday.
The Lady Indians (3-3) fought to an 11-8 advantage in the first quarter before outscoring the Lady Greyhounds 21-12 in the second quarter to take a 32-20 halftime lead. Mid-South rallied to outscore the Lady Indians 30-22 in the third quarter to cut the lead to 54-50 heading into the final frame, but ICC finished strong to hold on for the 77-64 victory.
Aaliyaha Thornton (Hernando) added 15 points, Constance Dunn (Fulton) scored a career-high 14, and Marlee Hatcher (Pontotoc) chipped in 11 points in the win.
Sable Greer paced Mid-South with 18 points in the loss.
Filling It up West of the Mississippi
The Lady Indians shot a season-high 51.8 percent from the floor and knocked down 16 of 20 from the free throw line. Defensively, ICC held Mid-South to 31.8 percent shooting on the evening.
Balanced Attack
Four of the five starters scored in double figures for the Lady Indians. Asia Partlow (Tupelo) scored 7 points and added 7 rebounds.
Division Play in Goodman
The Lady Indians will open North Division play Monday night at Holmes Community College, marking the sixth road game of the season for ICC. Last season, the Lady Indians rallied on the road to defeat the Lady Bulldogs, 67-66.
