Lady Indians fall in opening round of NJCAA Tournament

SALINA, KS - The Lady Indians dropped a 70-51 decision to No. 18 Wabash Valley College in the opening round of the NJCAA national Tournament at the Bicentennial Center in Salina, Kansas.
ICC (23-4) shot a dismall 28-percent while Wabash Valley (27-6) connected on 48-percent from the floor to pull away late in the contest.
Lanikki McMillian (Pontotoc) tied the game, 33-33, with a jumper at the 15:48 mark of the first half, but the Lady Warriors went on a 19-4 run to take a 52-37 lead at the six-minute media timeout.
ICC pulled within a 59-43 deficit inside five minutes left to play, but the double-digit margin was too much for the Lady Indians to overcome as their season came to an end in the opening round of the national tournament for the second time in three years.
Jayla Chills (Ripley) finished with a game-high 25 points while Kaelin Kneeland (Olive Branch) added 16, Julianna Garner (New Albany) 6, McMillian 2, and Zierra Long (Tupelo) had 2 points for the Lady Indians.
Three players scored in double figures for the Lady Warriors with Tyshee Towner scoring 18 in the victory.
