Hannah Johnson name MACJC Pitcher of the Week

FULTON, MS – For the second-straight week a member of the nationally ranked ICC softball team has earned Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Player of the Week honors when the league announced its winners on Tuesday.
Freshman pitcher Hannah Johnson (Branson, MO) was named MACJC Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 last week to help the No. 20 Lady Indians extend their win streak to nine-straight games by allowing 3 earned runs on 9 hits and 2 walks while striking out 5 in 16 innings of work in 2 complete game performances.
She scattered 5 hits, walked one and struck out another in a shutout victory in a key division game against Holmes Community College before giving up 3 earned runs on 4 hits and a walk while striking out 4 to improve to 12-4 on the season with a win against Gadsden State Community College in 9 innings of work.
Johnson is eligible for National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Pitcher of the Week honors.

The Lady Indians (27-10, 17-3 MACJC North) can capture their third-straight MACJC North Division Championship with a pair of wins over Coahoma Community College on Sophomore Day in Fulton. The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and the Sophomore Day festivities will be held between games at the ICC Softball Complex.
