Golf wraps up season at Region Tournament

FULTON, MS - The ICC golf team wrapped up the 2017 season with a fifth place finish in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 Tournament. The Indians improved on their opening day score of 326 by carding 315 on Tuesday but could not improve on their standings on the final day of the tournament.
The Indians shot 65-over 641 to finish fifth in the two-day event. Copiah-Lincoln Community College took home the team championship with a 12-over 588.

Brandon Walker (Vardaman) dropped nine spots to 16th after carding a 6-over 78 on Tuesday. Combined with his opening round 77, Walker finished the tournament with an 11-over 155.
Kirk Reeder (Tupelo) moved up and down the leaderboard throughout the tournament before finishing tied for 17th with a 5-over 77 on the final day of play. He improved on his opening round 82 to combine for a 15-over 159.
Andrew McDonald (Fulton) jump three spots to finish tied for 26th with a final round 6-over 78. Hampered by a pair of triple bogies on Monday, the Blue Mountain signee turned in an opening round 86 to finish 20-over 164 for the tournament.
Todd Harrell (Vardaman) and Nick Brown (Mooreville) slid down the leaderboard to finish tied for 29th with a matching 22-over 166 for the two-day event. Harrell carded a 10-over 82 after an opening round 84 while Brown shot back-to-back rounds of 11-over 83.
Northwest Mississippi Community College's Cameron Foster won the individual championship with a total of 144, even par for the tournament.
