Indians finishes tied for 8th in Hinds Invitational

SOUTHAVEN, MS – The Indians slipped from third place to finish tied for eighth with host Hinds Community College after posting a team total 621 (+45) in the Hinds Invitational at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club.
Brandon Walker (Vardaman) finished tied for 14th after posting a two-day total of 149 (+5). He went into the clubhouse tied for seventh at 73 (+1) before closing out the turning by firing a 76 (+4).
Andrew McDonald (Fulton) turned in a 154 (+10) to finish tied for 29th. He was tied for 16th at 74 (+2) after the opening round of play before closing out the Invitational with an 80 (+8).
Kirk Reeder (Tupelo) finished tied for 36th with a two-day total of 157 (+13) after carding a 75 (+3) on day one and an 82 (+10) on the final day of play.
Nick Brown (Mooreville) turned in a 161 (+17) to finish tied for 44th. He carded an opening round 77 (+5) and finished the Invitational with an 84 (+12).
Mark Tipton (Hamilton) finished 53rd with a two-day total of 172 (+28). He shot an opening round 87 (+15) and turned in an 85 (+13) on the final day of play.
Todd Harrell (Vardaman) carded a 176 (+32) to finish 54th. He shot 85 (+13) in his opening round of play and concluded play with a 91 (+19).
The Indians carded a season-best 299 to earn the No. 3 spot after the opening round of the Invitational.
