TUPELO, MS -- The Itawamba Community College golf team wrapped up the 2012 golf season with sophomores John Michael Parker and Matt Belk participating in the National Junior College Athletic Associaiton (NJCAA) Region 23 Tournament at Big Oaks in Tupelo.
Parker finished tied for 22nd at 169 (83-86) and Belk finished alone at 28th at 180 (84-96) for the two-day event.
"There were a couple of times the breaks got the best of them," said ICC head coach David Rather. "I know they were disappointed in their rounds, but the course was playing pretty tough. They both had an outstanding season and deserved to be playing amongst the states best at the end of the year."
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College won their third-straight MACJC golf title at 615 with Cameron Thomas taking home medalist honors at 146 (74-72).
