Halums named to NJCAA All-Region 23 team

FULTON, MS – Freshman Brian Halums of the ICC men's basketball team was selected to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 23 team on Tuesday.
Halums averaged a team-high 17.3 points per game and grabbed a team-best 7.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocked shots per game. He was second on the team with one steal per contest after starting in 21 of 22 games played this season. The Hollandale native shot 55.1 percent from the floor, a team-best 44.8 percent from three, and 78.6 percent from the free throw line.
He was selected as one of the top five players in the region and will be nominated for NJCAA All-American consideration.
Halums and the Indians (11-12, 7-5 MACJC North) advanced to the opening round of the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) State Tournament.
