FULTON, MS – Sophomore guard Johnthan McGee (Raymond) signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for Coach Jeff Morgan and the Bison of Harding University on Tuesday.
"It feels good being able to continue to pursue my goals and do something to help my family out," said McGee. "It's been a long journey from coming in as a freshman and learning from the older guys to become one of those older guys and have players learn from me. Things like that taught me responsibility and how to be a better teammate."
McGee was named to the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State and All-Star teams and while earning National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 23 Tournament Team honors after averaging 14.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steal per game to help guide the Indians to the 2014 MACJC Championship.
"Johnthan has been a two-year starter for our program and in those two years he made big shot after big shot after big shot," said Coach Grant Pate. "He'll do well for Coach Morgan and his program by being the player and young man that he has become over the past two years. He is going to be really hard to replace."
