Indians roll in MACJC Tourney opener

FULTON, MS - ICC (15-9) opened the MACJC Tournament in impressive fashion defeating Southwest (12-12) 103-91 on Monday.
Six Indians scored in double figures with Alex Anderson (Memphis, TN) leading the way with 26, Tyrone Wooten (Memphis, TN) adding 19, Johnthan McGee (Jackson) 15, Lakee Westbrook (Shannon) 14, Tory Rice (Starkville) 12 and Austin Timms (Mooreville) chipping in 10 points in the win.
Rice recorded his ninth double-double of the season by collecting a game-high 12 rebounds for the Indians.
Twymond Howard scored 28 for Southwest.
Jones County 84 Coahoma 57
Jones (20-4) took care of Coahoma (9-15) 84-57 behind Johnny Zuppardo's 24 points. Mark Haywood led the Tigers with 17 points in the loss.
East Mississippi 73 Pearl River 65
EMCC (18-5) rallied to defeat Pearl River (16-7) 73-65 behind Jacolby Mobley's 25 while Devon Ester added 13 and Mack Foster chipped in 12 for the Lions. Quintarius Porter paced the Wildcats with 17 in the loss.
MS Gulf Coast 108 Northwest 97
Tony Bridges scored 31 and Roger Woods added 25 as Mississippi Gulf Coast (19-5) defeated Northwest (12-10) 108-95 in Monday's nightcap. Rashon Coleman led the Rangers with 16 while Dajo Reno added 14 in the loss.
Jones and EMCC will face off at 3:00 p.m. while ICC will take on Gulf Coast at 8:00 in the semifinals on Wednesday.
