DECATUR, Miss. – After taking game one of the best-of-three NJCAA Region Playoffs, the Indians dropped game two to East Central 9-1 in seven inning to force a decisive game three.
The Indians (31-15) fell behind early as East Central took a four run lead in the second with one swing of the bat. A grand slam by Alex Hay gave the Warriors the early advantage and they added to their lead in the next frame scoring one run off a double a fielder's choice.
Trailing, 5-0, the Indians scored their lone run of the game when Connor Lewis(Corinth) scored on a sacrifice fly by Russell Bunch(Saltillo) in the fifth.
In the bottom of the seventh, East Central plated four runs to force the mercy rule and a game three with a 9-1 run-rule victory.
