BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Lady Indians left no doubt in their final game of the 2018 half of season after defeating Lawson State, 61-49, on Monday.
The Lady Indians outscored the Lady Cougars 20-7 in the second quarter to charge into halftime with a 34-18 lead. ICC put the game away by outscoring Lawson State 20-8 in the third quarter. The Lady Cougars went on a late run in the fourth quarter to make things appear closer than they were before dropping a 12-point decision.
Taneshia Miller (Greenville) scored a career-high 18 points and added career-best 18 rebounds while Shaniyah Buford (Abbeville) added 13 points in the victory.
The Lady Indians improved to 7-2 on the season and will take a 1-0 conference record in to the Christmas break.
ICC will return to action on Saturday, January 5 when they host Gadsden State (Ala.) Community College at 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. at the Davis Event Center.
