CLINTON, Miss. - No. 5 Highland picked up an 11-3 win in five innings over the No. 10 Indians after a five-run sixth inning in the second round of the NJCAA Division II National Tournament on Thursday.
Trailing 11-0 heading to the bottom of the sixth, Summer Cryder (Tupelo) drew a bases-loaded walk to score Hope Harbin (Columbus) before Macey Cox (Troy, Tenn.) ripped a single to plate Lilli Moore (Fulton) and Mattie Meine (Olive Branch).
Meine went 2-for-2 with a walk, a double, and a run scored. Cox, Harbin, and Joanna Vasquez (Southaven) each had a single in the loss.
The Indians will immediately face Cuyahoga (OH), who eliminated No. 6 St. Louis (MO) with a 9-4 win earlier in the day. The winner will advance to tomorrow's elimination game against the winner between No. 16 Johnson County (KS) and Illinois Central.
