FULTON, Miss. – The football team is ranked No. 16 in the NJCAA preseason Top 20 poll that was released on Wednesday.

The Indians are scheduled to face a pair of ranked teams this season – No. 1 East Mississippi Community College and No. 6 Northwest Mississippi Community College. Other MACJC teams earning a spot in the preseason rankings are – No. 9 Jones County Junior College and No. 13 Hinds Community College. Holmes Community College and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College each received votes in the poll.

ICC will open the 2018 season on Thursday, August 30 at Pearl River Community College. The Indians finished last season ranked No. 10 after winning five-straight games to close out the year.

The NJCAA Football Poll is conducted by a 17-member committee featuring a representative from each of the seven districts, two annually rotating at-large voters, and one representative from the seven conferences along with a representative from the independent schools in which the highest and lowest vote for each team is dropped.
