FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College's Houston Harding was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Pitcher of the Week in a league announcement Tuesday.
The sophomore southpaw from Walls went 2-0 last week and went the distance in both outings, compiling 19 strikeouts while walking only five in 16-innings of work.
In the Indians' 12-4 run-rule win over East Central Community College, Harding struck out 10 while allowing seven hits and two earned runs while throwing all seven innings.
Harding finished the week with a complete game win over Copiah-Lincoln Community College, striking out 9 and allowed six hits and one earned run.
The Mississippi State University signee improves to 9-0 this season with a 1.62 ERA and is averaging 10.26 strikeouts per game.
The No. 4 ranked Indians (31-6-1, 16-4 MACJC) will travel to Clarksdale Wednesday for a conference doubleheader with Coahoma Community College before returning home for a twin bill with No. 14 Hinds Community College Saturday, where Harding is scheduled to start game one.
