Jeanie Dale was starting forward for the Lady Indian basketball team that went undefeated in conference play in 1975-1976. She also started the following season before transferring to Ole Miss and beginning a stellar two-year run with the Lady Rebels.

In her days at IJC, Dale was named All-State, All-Region and team MVP. She was also Miss IJC, Most Athletic, vice president of Phi Theta Kappa and named to Who’s Who and the Hall of Fame.

Drafted in the third round of the women’s professional league, she averaged double figures on the court as a rookie for the St. Louis Streak.

Dale earned the B.A. degree in English from The University of Mississippi and the M.S. degree in exercise physiology from Mississippi State University.

She has served on county and state boards for the American Heart Association. Her other community activities include serving as a volunteer for the First Friends Alzheimer’s Daycare program in Amory where she is a member of the First Baptist Church.
