Curt Monroe taught and served as chairman of the history department at Itawamba Community College from 1961 until he retired in 1993. He served as baseball coach from 1962-83 and also as Itawamba AHS football coach.

Monroe’s educational background includes East Central Junior College, B.S. and M.S. degrees from Mississippi State University where he was a Presidential Scholar for two years, and advanced work at the University of Mississippi. Monroe was a member of the 1952-53 Southeastern Conference First-Team in baseball while he was at MSU.

Monroe is a member of the M Club at Mississippi State, 32nd degree Mason, Shriner and active member of the First United Methodist Church of Fulton.

He and his wife, the former Sally Ashford of Starkville, are the parents of two daughters, Amy Agee and Emilie Nan Brock English. They have four grandchildren, Ryan Agee, Marianne Ashford Agee, Samuel Whitman Agee and Curtis Ryan “Curt” Bailey.
