Mike Justice played football at Itawamba Junior College in 1969 and third base on the baseball team from 1970-71.

He retired from the Mississippi Public School System in 2002 with 27 years of service and a 228-72 coaching record.

He coached at Oxford, Alabama High School. His honors include Mississippi Association of Coaches football Coach of the Year in 1998 and 1999, Mississippi Association of Coaches Athletic Director of the year in 1998 and 2000, Region coach of the year in football (15 times), Metro Jackson coach of the year in football (3 times), Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Coach as assistant in 1990 and head coach in 2000 and Mississippi High School All-Star Game as assistant in 1984 and head coach in 1988. His state championships include Louisville High School (1985 and 1986) and Madison Central High School (1999). His program honors include All-Sports award signifying the best athletic department in Mississippi for all high school sports (4 years).

His service includes National Federation Football Rules Committee (1988); Mississippi Association of Coaches Board of Directors, Executive Board, Vice President, President, Past President and Hall of Fame selection committee; Mississippi High School Activities Association president for Region 4 and Region 6 and Legislative Council; Mississippi State Department of Education committee member for Landmark “no pass no play” policy for Mississippi High School Athletes and Mississippi Region 6 chairperson for golf, football and power lifting.
