Indians’ comeback bid falls short against Northwest

FULTON - After dropping the first two sets against Northwest on Friday, the Indians stormed back to force a decisive fifth but fell just short at the end (15-25; 24-26; 25-19; 26-23; 11-15).

Four Indians had double-digit digs against the Rangers with Kensley Woolbright (Columbus), Mia Griffin (Corinth), Audrey Hamill (Pontotoc) and Bree Lyons (Oxford) having 20, 17, 11 and 10 respectively.

Lyons led the team in scoring with 11 points while Aubrey Swanson (Corinth) and Hamill each added 8.5 to the scoreboard. Swanson and Hamill were also tied for a team-best seven kills in the match.

After the match, the Indians dropped 13-15 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
