HANCEVILLE, Ala. – It was a good start to the Alabama-Mississippi Crossover Battle for the volleyball team when the Indians opened as victors after they won a 3-1 match (25-22; 23-25; 25-16; 25-18) over Gadsden State.
The Indians had a team total of 54 kills on the day with Bree Lyons (Oxford) leading the team with 13. Sadie Stegall (Pontotoc) added 11 to that count and Abbi Upchurch (Starkville) added nine.
Kills weren't the only stat the Indians cracked 50 on. The team also had a total of 50 assists on the day with Presley Jones (Killen, Ala.) leading the team in 24 and Audrey Hamill (Pontotoc) adding 23 to that count. Kensley Woolbright (Columbus) and Marlee Robinson (Ellisville) clocked in the rest with Woolbright having two and Robinson having one.
